After upgrading thunderbird to 3.1-rc2, running it uses around 60% of CPU time on a Core 2 Duo T7250 2.0GHz during all his execution.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade thunderbird to 3.1-rc2-r1
2. Launch it
3. Watch CPU

Actual Results:  
Uses 60% of the CPU

Expected Results:  
Uses 1 to 2 % of CPU

I use also enigmail extensions:

I also noticed that after starting it the first time. Took about 10 minutes, and i do not see this anymore. I guess it rebuild the indizes of the database?

I also use enigmail.

Hi
I add 100% CPU with 3.1-rc and stopped it, getting back to 3.0.5.
But 3.1 kept it to ~70% and finished in less than 10 minutes on my G4.
Nice progression :-)

Global indexing was re-enabled, once the index is built you will notice the cpu cycles will decrease.
