I thought I had the same problem, but I discovered that flash works (sometimes) in konqueror as well, but it's just dog slow (as in several minutes to display something in that black box). When I right click on the black box I saw the usual browser menu, not the flash one. In my case it seems that konqueror is not seeing nspluginwrapper/flash! They don't appear in the plugins config window.

AFAIK the ebuild does not run it for you anymore.

Adding /usr/lib64/nsbrowser/plugins to the plugins directories of the konqueror and seraching for new plugins fixed the problem. Now konqueror is working perfectly with youtube, and no flickering!!!

I upgraded to kde-4.4.4 and it stopped working again! Now if I right click at the black box I see the flash menu, but no video! It seems the same situation as of comment #4.
Uh oh, seems like 10.1 flash is causing many users some grief. I'll go ahead and assign this to the flash maintainers, hopefully they will have some suggestions.
Adding konqueror folks (kde) as well. I don't use konqueror so they may be better than I at providing tips. It may be worthwhile to also read about other browsers' issues with nspluginwrapper and flash 10.1 (Bug #324365)

Konqueror, in 4.3.5, works perfectly with nspluginwrapper+flash 10.1 32 bits. Much better than firefox. So the problem must also be somehow related to kde.
Has anyone been able to try kde-4.4.5 yet? Does it still fail with it?

It seems like a miracle ... but konqueror now is working pretty well with flash, at least in youtube! History: 1. I saw that last opera has almost the same symptoms as konqueror. The previous version used to work fine. 2. I deleted the /home/<user>/.opera dir. 3. After this, and trying to add all plugin dirs I could remember of, I was unable to have opera seeing flash plugin! 4. So I decided to look at konqueror to see which dirs it has ... and it was just working!!! Could any recent upgrade somehow fixed it?

Clicking on "expand" button on youtube does nothing. Relatively frequent image hangs (not sound). This does not happen in the other browsers (ffx and opera). BTW, opera works fine providing all plugin dirs are configured. Not those with links. Links seem to not be recognized by opera!
Any word on how 10.2 works with konqueror? I'm hoping 10.1 will be short-lived.
