Did you check 'eselect postgresql' and tried reemerging postgresql-base already ?
`/usr/bin/pg_config` is a symlink to `/usr/lib64/eselect-postgresql/binwrapper` (from app-admin/eselect-postgresql), which is a wrapper tat starts stuff related to `/etc/eselect/postgresql/active` (symlink to `/etc/eselect/postgresql/slots/8.3` over here). Are these links ok? What's the output of `/usr/bin/pg_config`? See bottom for example output. Michael: That symlink does not exist for me. I will try re-emerging postgresql-base next.
After re-emerging dev-db/poastgresql-base, everything works again
