Description Patrick Lauer gentoo-dev 2010-06-16 06:18:52 UTC
Aaron has been doing most of the heavy lifting on postgresql in the last weeks. Due to his work we got the number of open bugs down quite a lot, the ebuilds are getting into an awesome shape and I'm getting tired of being a proxy for him ;)
(Just look at the ChangeLog ...)

He has already mostly finished the ebuild quiz, so he'll send it to y'all soon enough.

I'd like Aaron to be assimilated into the collective so he can work on postgresql-related things and everything else that bothers him.

Thanks!

In 26 minutes, it will be exactly one week since I've submitted my Ebuild Quiz.

I haven't been contacted yet as to whether the quiz had been received in the first place or if there were any questions regarding it.

I read the Mentor Guide and noticed that a comment should have been made here soon after I sent the quiz. As Patrick is off enjoying the Caribbean at the moment, I decided it's probably best for me to comment now.
Comment 2 Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2010-07-19 19:37:57 UTC
You (or your mentor) should mention it here, when you send something to our alias. You wont get much or any feedback afterwards since others are before you in the recruitment queue. Usually, questions and/or comments will be done during review sessions. So please, have some patience and you will get your recruitment bug processed ;-)
Comment 3 Aaron W. Swenson gentoo-dev 2010-07-19 19:53:14 UTC
I figured there'd be a queue. I was just hoping to hear something along the lines of, "Hey, we received your message. We'll get to it eventually."

Until then, I'll try to contain my excitement. (^_^)

I will be your recruiter. As your ebuild quiz is already sent please
contact me by IRC or email to schedule the first review session. If you think
that recruiters aren't paying attention to this bug at any later point in time,
it's your job to ping us on IRC if you don't want any delays.

We had our first review yesterday and will continue with the end quiz after it's been approved by the mentor and submitted.

After multiple delays the finish line is nearing.

Automatic:
- gentoo-core

What you need to do:
- subscribe to mailing lists with your @gentoo.org address
- request forum status bump in #gentoo-forums or by mail to
forum-mods@gentoo.org (if you have a forums account)
- send yourself mail to check if it works
- add yourself to mail aliases ( like java@gentoo.org )
  see /var/mail/alias on dev.gentoo.org
- ask team leads to add yourself to herds.xml for the herds you want to
join or do it yourself if you have the permission to do so
- set lat and lon attributes in LDAP if you want others to know where
  exactly you are located
- set gentooIM if you want people to be able to contact you via other
  means than email

For the mentor:
- You are also responsible for the commits of your recruit during the first
month so you should watch the commits of your recruit via gentoo-commits
