djbdns is one of the best DNS server and resolver today available,
removing it from the portage tree will be a BIG error

This is being adopted. Will close when the open bugs are resolved.

Just something that may be of interest. There's an actively (apparently) developed fork of djbdns called rofldns, more info here http://www.rjmsoftware.org/?q=node/17
This or loldns, a dead fork, could parhaps include patches for the currently open bugs.
