If I try to change ModDate or CreationDate of a pdf file pdftk polar_plot-a4.pdf with: pdftk polar_plot-a4.pdf update_info /tmp/$$_new_pdfinfo output polar_plot-a4_new.pdf verbose neither pdfinfo, acroread nor okular are able to understand the ModDate and CreationDate in olar_plot-a4_new.pdf. Evince and 'pdftk polar_plot-a4_new.pdf dump_data' show the correct time. If I inspect polar_plot-a4.pdf and polar_plot-a4_new.pdf with ghex2 I see that each letter of the values of ModDate and CreationDate which are represented by one byte in polar_plot-a4.pdf are replaced by two bytes in polar_plot-a4_new.pdf. It happens in a de_DE.UTF-8 and a POSIX locale. Reproducible: Always

Patches fixes this. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=424920
Could the patch be included into the portage tree?
ok, i've installed pdftk-1.44 and see a modified/now ModDate in evince -> properties. Can you please check this bug against the -1.44 version? Thanks
No reply for half a year. Let's assume this is fixed as indicated in comment 5.
