wmget is a dockapp which makes if convenient to do long downloads in the
background. 

this ebuild depends on net-ftp/curl

I'd suggest either x11-misc/wmget, or creating a x11-dockapps as there appear to
be around 30 of them in x11-misc already.

Could you file your proposal for x11-docapps as a separate bug, please?  Sounds
like a sensible thing to do.

separate proposal for x11-dockapps has been filed. it is bug# 3245

wmget 0.4.4 has been added to portage.  Thanks for the submission. :)
