The current fortune-mod ebuild brings in a set of fortunes that not all users might want installed. This ebuild responds to a new FORTUNE_DELETE variable in /etc/make.conf. By adding one or more of the following to FORTUNES_DELETE, that type of fortune can be omitted from the local installation: art ascii-art astrology atheism black-humor computers cookie debian definitions drugs education ethnic food fortunes goedel hphobia humorists kids knghtbrd law limerick linux linuxcookie literature love magic medicine men-women misandry miscellaneous misogyny news paradoxum people perl pets platitudes politics privates racism religion riddles science sex songs-poems sports startrek translate-me vulgarity wisdom work zippy Reproducible: Always

Wouldn't taht be a good case to use these USE auto expanstion like in ake.conf(LINUGAS="en") -> ebuild/emerge IUSE linguas_en ?
Sorry, I'd missed this when doing the bump for bug 604140. That said, feels like this is far better served by INSTALL_MASK in make.conf or package.env which works for all ebuilds. I'll tentatively close as WONTFIX.
