Hmm, this is the kind of error you would get if ./configure passes with >= libvorbis-1.3.0 check, but you still have old libvorbis headers installed somewhere in your system.

/usr/include/vorbis/vorbisenc.h should have:
#define OV_ECTL_COUPLING_SET         0x41

Please check that you don't have old headers somewhere, like:
find /usr/include -name 'vorbisenc.h'
find /usr/local -name 'vorbisenc.h'
Comment 5 Leeman Strout 2010-06-16 11:26:01 UTC
Yes, it was in /usr/local. Why is it I can't have software installed in /usr/local and also have the "official" release built right alongside it? Is there some setting that I can change so that /usr/local doesn't get checked for emerged builds?

Of course all this wouldn't be necessary if we still had aoTuV still available.
Comment 6 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-16 11:36:05 UTC
closing as invalid then.

you can put headers & libs in /usr/local, but then you have to also ensure the rest of the system if fine with them, i.e. maintain the directory (and any bugs caused by them don't belong to this bugzilla)

use more non-standard prefix like some directory in your home, if you want to avoid this...
