If I try:
evince ./log4perl.pdf

evince starts and says:

Dokument konnte nicht geöffnet werden
Der Dateityp PDF-Dokument (application/pdf) wird nicht unterstützt.

(Document could not be opened
file type PDF-Document (application/pdf) is not supported)


If I try :

evince -> File -> open 

no pdf file is shown in the file selector.

Sorry for your trouble. Please try again with 0.14.0-r1 and report back if evince doesn't work after you rebuild it. Thanks.

After installing poppler-0.14.0-r1 and reemerging evince, the issue disappeared.
