app-misc/ldapbrowser can't be used as non root user because unfortunately it tries to write config files in the directory it is started in, which would be /opt/ldapbrwoser-282_beta2/ with the current start script. The start script has another problem too, it changes directory to /opt/ldap* so if I install something in /opt/ldapa/ it would try to cd there and not start at all. Use the attached patch to lbe.sh instead of the one in portage now to make it work as user too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start ldapbrowser as non root user and try to change something (make a new connection etc)
Created attachment 19965 [details, diff] new patch against lbe.sh
not my package. I don't do GUI ldap stuff.
thx for pointing this out, fixed in -r1 :)
Perhaps someone could remove it from ~arch and put it in arch please? It has sat in ~arch for quite some time now and it is a simple fix which does not break anything but instead fix a very simple bug. Thx.
Removed from portage due to licensing issues. WONTFIX.
