I'm not sure where it might be included: gnome-base/gvfs itself don't depend on gnome-base/gnome-mount. I have no gnome on desktop, only xfce, but for mounting removable media in gtk dialogs or in x11-misc/gigolo gnome-mount is needed. I found some info here: http://wiki.xfce.org/gnomemount-replacement and think it can be a solution. Reproducible: Always

gnome-mount is deprecated, what app is still relying on it? I disagree with making gvfs provide this wrapper, maybe affected applications should be updated to not use gnome-mount or, if not possible, this wrapper could be provided as a separate package
gvfs doesn not depend on gnome-mount.
actually gvfs does use gnome-mount but only with hal backend. hal is deprecated and if you have a recent udev on your machine you should most of the time disable USE=hal. In the case of gvfs, there has no adverse effect. So I'll reopen to close wontfix.
closing.
