w_scan is a small command line utility used to perform frequency scans for DVB and ATSC transmissions.
It is capable of creating channels.conf files (in different output formats !) as well as initial tuning data for scan.

One of the main advantages over the scan utility from linuxtv-dvb-apps is that it is capable of handling DVB-S2 channels.

It's GPL v2 licensed (and I'm not the author).

w_scan 20110702 has just been committed and will be on the mirrors soonish.
