The pdns-recursor package installs the init-script /etc/init.d/precursor which can be a bit offputting for systems administrators coming from other distributions. I for one coming from debian initially looked for /etc/init.d/pdns-recursor which i also consider a more logical choice. Reproducible: Always

Starting with pdns-recursor-4.0.0-r1 the init script has been renamed to pdns-recursor.
