After a mere 14 years stall, mawk has resumed development, with new releases coming out more or less regularly every 1/2 months or so. The official site is

The last release is 1.3.4-20100507, the last release in portage is 1.3.3_p20090820.

It would be great to have an updated mawk in portage. Thanks.
