I have tried re-emerging the package with no luck. rhythmbox-0.5.88 was just released if that would help.

It's working fine for me with media-sound/rhythmbox-0.6.1-r1. Are you still having this problem? If so, can you try updating your version of rhythmbox or provide more information... Can you post the song you're trying to listen to somewhere and give me a link to it?
no response... closing assuming updated package fixed the problem since it worked for me... If that's not the case, please reopen.
