Description oriol.morell@urv.cat 2010-05-24 11:05:15 UTC
Cannot upgrade libXrender. It complains about an "export SHELL", but it exists: "echo $SHELL (result: /bin/bash) "

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Rafał Mużyło 2010-05-24 11:45:38 UTC
Attach full build log.
Comment 2 oriol.morell@urv.cat 2010-05-24 11:57:05 UTC

Considering your previous bugs: bug 320841 and bug 320861,
I think that reinstall from scratch may be in order.

Perhaps something like 'emerge -e system' could help,
but given that's yet another quite atypical bug,
I suspect one of the fundamental packages got messed up.

You should take these problem to the forum and state there,
how long ago was the previous update and what do you think
you've already upgraded. It would get wider audience there
than in bugzilla - unless I'm being too paranoid and your system
was updated regularly.

One more thing - on such major updates, it's better to check
full set, that is 'emerge -upvD --with-bdeps y world'.
Comment 5 Michael Weber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-07 09:01:36 UTC
Hello Oriol,

please try to reproduce and attach the build.log _and__ the environment file located at /var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/libXrender-0.9.5/temp, if it fails again.
Please add the /var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/libXrender-0.9.5/work/libXrender-0.9.5/config.log too, as said so in the build output.

Feel free to reopen if it still exists.

Thanks , Michael

p.s. no need to reinstall upon the first failed ebuild ;-)
