I have KDE 4.4.3 installed on my system. I was troubleshooting to determine why it was having trouble with the latest Nvidia driver and I discovered that KDE was complaining about plugin lib prefixes in my ~/.xsession-errors file. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install KDE 4.4.3 on an ~arch system 2. Start KDE 3. grep "should not" < ~/.xsession-errors Actual Results: $ grep "should not" < ~/.xsession-errors kcminit(2821)/kdecore (KLibrary) findLibraryInternal: plugins should not have a 'lib' This affects KDE 4.4.4 too.
Here are some more. However, is this a downstream or an upstream problem? Where are the plugin names determined? kcminit(2484)/kdecore (KLibrary) findLibraryInternal: plugins should not have a 'lib' prefix: "libkcm_keyboard.so" kcminit(2484)/kdecore (KLibrary) findLibraryInternal: plugins should not have a 'lib' prefix: "libkcm_kttsd.so" konqueror(3359)/kdecore (KLibrary) findLibraryInternal: plugins should not have a 'lib' prefix: "libkhtmlpart.so" yakuake(2522) findLibraryInternal: plugins should not have a 'lib' prefix: "libkonsolepart.so"

I imagine that filing a report with upstream would be the best way to find out.
There's not much that we can do here. This is an upstream problem (if you can call this a problem at all...) Just ignore the messages for now.
