Description Florent Bondoux 2010-05-23 13:53:31 UTC
When using my synaptics touchpad on a xinerama dual monitor setup, the pointer
can move from screen 0 to screen 1 but is unable to move from screen 1 to 0.
I'm using the stable xorg-server-1.7.6 and I think the bug was not present in
the 1.6 branch. It doesn't depend on the window manager in use.

There is an upstream bug report with a patch (the patch is for xorg-server, not
for the synaptics driver): http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26543

The patch seems to be in the 1.8 branch.
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=9f462ff9082634719e64d2d8d4dbd09ec7deaf2e

It could maybe be backported to xorg-server-1.7* since it's the current stable version ?
It applies cleanly with xorg-server-1.7.6 and solves the issue.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dual monitor, synaptics touchpad
2. try to move the pointer from one screen to another

Actual Results:
mouse is stuck on the 2nd screen

Ah, good to see that I'm not the only one having this problem. I thought I misconfigured my xserver.

Cant reproduce with current stable we have. Please reopen if your problem still occurs.
