Emerge media-tv/linuxtv-dvb-firmware fails because a server is not available - in my case www.twinhan.com. I probably don't want their firmware but cannot complete build. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge linuxtv-dvb-firmware 2. 3. Actual Results: emerge fails due to server www.twinhan.com non-availability Expected Results: emerge linuxtv-dvb-firmware in particular tda 10045/tda10046 Completed available downloads and compiled while reporting any individual download failures
If you don't need the firmware which fails to download you can set DVB_CARDS="your_firmware" in /etc/make.conf. This way only the firmware you need gets downloaded and installed. We can do nothing about unavailable servers. Maybe there is an alternative source we can use. If there is not, the firmware should be removed from the ebuild.
Drivers are available in URL as http://hotfile.com/dl/96601973/761b733/algzar99-com-twinhandtv2-608a-zip.html (found using Google). If this driver is not directly downloadable, may be the ebuild has to add a check in order to tell the user download the file and put it into /usr/portage/distfiles
