The description of rdate states: rdate uses the NTP server of your choice to syncronize/show the current time Well, this is plain wrong - rdate does _NOT_ use NTP. From the manual: DESCRIPTION Rdate uses TCP or UDP to retrieve the current time of another machine using using the protocol described in RFC 868. Now - RFC 868 (ftp://ftp.uninett.no/pub/rfc/rfc868.txt) describes usage of the old time protocol that uses port 37, both UDP and TCP. (unlike NTP which uses port 123) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
thanks for the corrections, now in cvs :)
