Description roma1390 2003-10-27 00:38:56 UTC
I have server, Xfree package on it. I didn't want update this package very offten.
After emerge -pU distcc, i saw, that this uses Xfree, and want upgrade it. I
didn't want
upgrade Xfree too, I want upgrade distcc only. How to lock package XFree, that this
Package didn't upgrade, or downgrade auto?.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Comment 1 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2003-10-27 15:42:53 UTC
use /etc/portage/package.[un]mask

or run `emerge distcc -u --nodeps`
Comment 2 roma1390 2003-10-27 22:40:18 UTC
did you mean:
/etc/make.profile/use.mask
or another one? where is man/info/ducumentation for this file?

This:
emerge distcc -u --nodeps
doen't like me. I know of this posibiliti, but i didn't want to do that same
work, on every
system upgrade. From my point of wiev system is: sshd, distcc. And xfree
doesn't system.
I wana system upgrade.

But how to check that i wana some package with --nodeps flag, and didn't
specify this _EVERY_ time, again, and over again?

This is not for one system install, this issue about system maintains
