x11-base/nouveau-drm-20100316 doesn't build against the new 2.6.34 kernel. I must say that I had successfully built x11-base/nouveau-drm-20100316 once before kernel upgrade from gentoo-sources-2.6.33-r2 to gentoo-sources-2.6.34. Although this driver didn't work for me with that kernel too. But the errors are different. The drm in kernel 2.6.34 is newer than nouveau-drm-20100316. For now you are best advised to use in-kernel nouveau. I will consider adding a new nouveau-drm snapshot though, depending on what improvements are added to the nouveau kernel.

Yes, kernel 2.6.34 will work with libdrm-2.4.20
