Description Jochen Schalanda 2010-05-20 15:32:02 UTC
ClamAV 0.96 fails to build with the following error message although libstdc++.so.6 exists and is readable:

/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.4.3/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: warning: libstdc++.so.6, needed by ../libclamav/.libs/libclamav.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)

See build log for complete error message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge app-antivirus/clamav
Actual Results:
Building process fails.

Expected Results:

Complete build log for app-antivirus/clamav-0.96.1

The error still occurs with the recently released ClamAV 0.96.1 (after renaming the ebuild to clamav-0.96.1.ebuild and moving it to my overlay).
Comment 5 peter.centho.harmsen 2011-04-16 09:25:30 UTC
clamav-0.97 compiles fine

Output of `ld --verbose`

Adding -rpath-link=/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.5.2 to custom LDFLAGS in my make.conf (used default before) enables a successful build of ClamAV 0.97.

This is a rather ugly workaround since I have to update it on every GCC update.

I wonder if `ld --verbose` (see attachment) should contain "/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.5.2" as search patch (SEARCH_DIR) or if listing this path in /etc/ld.so.conf (see below) should suffice.

Output of `emerge --info`:
