revdep-rebuild wants to remerge many packages due to the libproxy upgrade but they all fail with a missing /usr/lib64/libproxy.la Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge =net-libs/libproxy-0.4.1 2.revdep-rebuild 3. because old libproxy used autotools and libtool, it installed libproxy.la, and then other packages you have installed started to reference the libproxy.la in their own .la files. it's how libtool works. new libproxy uses cmake, and doesn't use libtool anymore, and therefore doesn't install the libtool file. it's not really required. just install `lafilefixer` and run `lafilefixer --justfixit` to fix the installed .la files in your system.
great and sorry to bug this but how is one supposed to magically know this - there was no post install message from the libproxy merge
