While the project has been canceled in favor of lightning and will not be developed officially, it would still be great to have the latest version in portage. I haven't found another nice-looking calendar application (except korganizer, and this one draws in many kde dependencies). Unfortunately, my skills regarding complicated mozilla ebuilds are not very sophisticated, so maybe the original author could update the existing one? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Actual Results: Current ebuild installs 0.9. Expected Results: New ebuild that installs 1.0 beta1.

Is there any specific reason to remove Sunbird from the repository? As long as it works and maintenance is not a big hassle, there should be no reason to remove it. Is there a sane migration path to another calendar application (including all reminders)? No, I am not using Thunderbird.

You can migrate from sunbird to thunderbird[lightning] using this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Migrating_from_Sunbird_to_Lightning . I'm not sure how effective that is.
