Please post your `emerge --info', relevant information about the filesystem you're building the package on and perhaps any relevant syslog/dmesg information pertaining to the problem. Also attach the entire build log.

I don't see why sandbox would disallow that. Maybe it's a good idea to also attach your /etc/sandbox.conf

Somehow my sandbox got screwed and had generally problems when a package tried to do filesystem links for whatever reason.... A recompile of sandbox resolved the issue for me. :-)
