Hi,
As from bug 319485, I kindly request that some work is made to check for the binaries needed in the Makefile. It would be best to use stderr output as the cronjob redirects stdout to /dev/null but not stderr.

Alternatively, if you decide to scrap the Makefile, that is fine too. There is no hard requirement for that, someone just needs to tell us (infra/me) what to run after a git pull.
