hotwayd needs to be updated because of this:

Version 0.7.1 released
 
1st November, 2003 

This release is a minor compatibility bug fix for libxml2 >= 2.6.0. Unfortunately
the creators of libxml2 decided to spew out some more warnings for trivial
errors. Now we capture all warnings and they are only output to the log files
if a logging level of 3 is used on the command line. Note that there will
_always_ be warnings due to semantic differences between those who define
the XML standard and those who define the WebDAV standard, so using logging
level 3 is not recommended unless you like big log files or are having some
other problems logging into your mailbox. 

hotwayd 0.5.3 was dying on me because of the libxml2 bug fix. 0.7.1 fixes
this.
