Description David Fellows 2010-05-16 00:41:22 UTC
Fetchmail-6.3.17 produces the following warning message when invoked with the sslfingerprint specified. It should not. Earlier versions did not.

fetchmail: Warning: the connection is insecure, continuing anyways. (Better use --sslcertck!)

The bug is logged in the debian bug tracker as http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=580796

Upstream has provided a patch. can this be applied to gentoo version too?

Upstram patch as sent to debian.

Here is a copy of the patch upstream sent to debian.

I have created an overlay ebuild which applies it. It emerges and runs without problem and corrects the bug.
