Description dE 2010-05-15 16:48:26 UTC
There are too many useflags at hand, thus grouping them might a good idea.

We'll have groups (and subgroups) like networking, database (there're lots of use flags related to this), enhancements, formats (might have a subcategory, image, video, audio, documents) etc... This will allow users to turn on or off a complete set of useflags disabling the feature completely.

Even the local use flags should be grouped this way and the grouping should also be on per package basis such that user can remove the whole group of use on a per-package basis. e.g -

media/amarok -[database]

In package.use

Where the term in [] specifies a group.

emerge -pv should then return the use flags in terms of groups also.
