Description Andreas Proteus 2010-05-13 17:52:32 UTC
Ipodbrowser fails to start with the error message:

Can't call method "get_filename" on an undefined value at /usr/bin/podbrowser line 63.

Since I had not used podbrowser for some time I cannot tell which update caused this problem.
Reinstalling all the dependencies does not fix the problem.

Howver, I have found a patch here:

http://osdir.com/ml/debian-bugs-dist/2010-05/msg03539.html

which fixed the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. $ podbrowser
Can't call method "get_filename" on an undefined value at /usr/bin/podbrowser line 63

2.  Apply patch to /usr/bin/podbrowser

3. Podbrowser works!

here is the error;

podbrowser
Can't call method "get_filename" on an undefined value at /usr/bin/podbrowser line 205.
It still seems to work fine.

Thanks for the ebuild.

May be the error you get is caused by something else, because here after I applied the patch I get no such error.

I tried the patch but still get icons with red X symbols.

strange, seems to work ok here;

Still looks like it has not been updated since 2008.

updated ICON patch

After updating several gnome packages I found podbrowser not working again.
Fortunately with this minor change works again.

A fix was never committed ;)
Now 0.12-r1 is patched. Thanks

Still missing symbols (document with a red cross) and
a missing podbrowser.svg(?) warning on startup ("Can't call method "get_filename" on an undefined value at /usr/bin/podbrowser line 205.")
