EyeOS hit 2.0 on March 11, 2010 and the newest version available in portage is 1.9.0.1. I'm wondering if / hoping that a 2.0 is in the works. Some pages still call it a beta, some pages call it a release, so I'm not really sure what's going on, but, it does seem much improved over 1.*. http://www.eyeos.org/index.php?p=whatiseyeos_tryitnow M. Reproducible: Always
Thanks for the report, the files on sourceforge are in another folder, so they did not appear in my eyeos 1.x releases RSS Quite a few changes in this one though, the ebuild will need some updates
Better late than never, 2.4 is in tree now! As they added back the installer, it's easier to setup (though 2.x requires a mysql database now)
(In reply to comment #2) > Better late than never, 2.4 is in tree now! As they added back the installer, > it's easier to setup (though 2.x requires a mysql database now) So far the Upgrade is going OK. I'm going through the install now. There's a few USE flags that I think may need to be added: unzip (Needed for office support) zip (Needed for office support) exiftool (Needed to extract MP3 metadata) openoffice (it's calling it soffice, though) PDO SQLite Driver (Not sure what that means) Python uno: (Needed to convert office documents - I don't see anything in portage named that) Just thought I'd point it out. Thank you! M.
Yes, I hesitated for these dependencies, but as we lack UNO in portage (and openoffice support looks complicated), I leave it to the server admin. I added a log line on this in 2.4.1
