Don't know if you are aware of it but there is a new version out and the homepage also changed.
0003-halt-add-a-k-kexec-flag.patch and 0004-shutdown-use-single-user-by-default.patch from sysvinit-2.87-patches-2.tar.bz2 still apply cleanly to sysvinit-2.88 Tested this version on three ~amd64 machines without any glitches. I tested halt, reboot and switch to singleuser mode.
Created attachment 234155 [details, diff] sysvinit-2.88.ebuild.patch This patch shows the changes of the ebuild I'm currently using on all my testing systems.
Created attachment 234157 [details, diff] sysvinit-2.88-makefile.patch This is the makefile patch from http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/index.php?29758 There are other patches on their tracker which I didn't look into when I added this package to my overlay...
i moved the patches from the tarball back to files/ since upstream took most of our changes i grabbed the makefile patch that was actually committed upstream since it differed from the one in the tracker otherwise, i fixed the SRC_URI (mirror://nongnu/) and added the rest of the ebuild patch ... thanks
