this version (1.12) is used at ubuntu and arch - besides that it contains useful additional information (e.g. time of Turbo Mode used, etc.) and functionality like described on its prior (or still up-to-date) site [http://code.google.com/p/powertop/] - its repository moved to: git.moblin.org [http://git.moblin.org/cgit.cgi/powertop/] there has been a version-bump to 1.12 in the repo on 2009-08-06 [http://git.moblin.org/cgit.cgi/powertop/commit/?id=8ea0aec659f641095ea1a485e02ffc0a1c65cafd] - unfortunately currently there's no tarball for that version available thanks !
no interest ? :(
i cant find evidence of an actual release of 1.12. changing a line in a source code repository != a release
(In reply to comment #2) > i cant find evidence of an actual release of 1.12. > > changing a line in a source code repository != a release right. however, does that solve the problem? debian seems using 1.13~pre20100125-1. on ubuntu it's 1.11+git20091208-0ubuntu1. thilo, if you object a live ebuild maybe a bleeding-edge snapshot would do? mat, can you try convincing powertop upstream on a new release?
i dont object to a live ebuild - i was explaining why i changed the title from "version bump" to "git ebuild request". i wont be developing one though...
(In reply to comment #4) > i dont object to a live ebuild perfect. i now added one. @mat use at your own risk. do not expect full maintenance on live ebuilds. when the live ebuilds breaks please open bugs _with patches_ only. with that said i hope the live ebuild still helps. > - i was explaining why i changed the title from > "version bump" to "git ebuild request". i wont be developing one though... no problem. thanks for that explanation.
awesome! :-)
(In reply to comment #6) > awesome! > > :-) > indeed ! :) Thank you very much Sebastian as long as the live ebuild works I guess lots of people will be happy ^^ if it stops working I most likely will bother upstream to make a release ;)
