The new xawtv-version 3.90 cause in certain cases to crash X. I use 'old' nvidia-drivers (nvidia-kernel-1.0.4396-r3 and nvidia-glx-1.0.4396) and use the saa7134-driver.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to reproduce:
1. login as user1
2. start xawtv
3. logout
4. login as user2
5. start xawtv.

(Note that user1 and user2 are not real users, but the name of these users is not equal)

Actual results: X is being restarted.

Expected results: show xawtv with tv.

kernel: 2.4.20-r6
video-drivers: nvidia-kernel-4396-r3, nvidia-glx-4396
tv-card: Medion MD 5044 with saa7134-driver

Output of xawtv (got with xawtv -v 2 > xawtv.crash 2>&1) will follow soon. Due the size of this file, I'll try to add it as attachment, of else I'll print it in a comment.

could you try

other nvidia versions

or this once
xawtv -noxv -dga

with "xawtv -noxv -dga" X doesn't restart any more. I think this makes this bug fixed.
