The current Portage tree has an openoffice-bin-3.2.0 ebuild for x86 and amd64, using the tarball of RPMs provided by upstream. There is a similar package available for ppc, so I have modified the ebuild accordingly. The main difference is that only the en_US language is available for ppc. In addition, the "oooimprovement" package and KDE integration are missing, but Gnome integration seems to work. The only USE I have not tested is java, since there is further work in finding a suitable JRE. This is a "works for me" release, hopefully others fill find it useful. The language limitation is not a huge problem, for examples my Chinese documents work just fine.

Hello, The proposed 3.2.1 build for ppc appears to work fine, thank-you. I was wondering if there was a binary package for ppc openoffice, after failure to build from the source that takes a long time, >24h on this iBook G4 800Mhz. Bye, Hamada
Open Office team - The ppc team would definitely be happy with adding this, do you mind if I do it or do you want to do it?

It seems that only 3.2.1 is available, 3.3.0 isn't available yet. Is it still okay if we add it?
Libreoffice does not provide the PPC build at all so this bug is moot as we plan to not keep openoffice builds in main tree.
