Description Joe Eversole 2010-05-03 14:09:47 UTC
Attempting to emerge in sys-block/iscsitarget-0.4.17 on system running gentoo-sources-2.6.32-r7 as my kernel. I receive an error during the module build phase of the emerge. It appears that the upstream version isn't compatible with the kernel, but I'm not 100% certain.

This patch works for me and my kernel 2.6.32-r7 :
http://svn.berlios.de/wsvn/iscsitarget/trunk/patches/compat-2.6.31.patch?rev=280&sc=1

replace the line
   res = sync_page_range(inode, mapping, ppos, count);
with
   res = filemap_write_and_wait_range(mapping, ppos, ppos + count - 1);
in file-io.c line 91

hope this helps,

wolfman

Comment 5 Frank 2010-06-09 17:36:25 UTC
Added logs and requested information from my own failed build. Hoping this gets looked at.
Comment 6 Stefan Behte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev Security 2010-06-19 19:41:33 UTC
Please try 0.4.19.
Comment 7 Nico Baggus 2010-06-20 11:39:05 UTC
iscsitarget-0.4.19 does compile on my system.
0.4.17 fails.
Comment 8 Dustin J. Mitchell 2010-06-21 02:20:48 UTC
I had this problem with 0.4.17, but 0.4.19 built just fine.
Comment 9 Richard Scott 2010-06-22 10:20:24 UTC
lol, my portage goes from v0.4.17 and the next one I have is v1.4.19...
I think someone made a typo when creating the ebuild :-(

oops, my mistake.... v1.4.19 is a valid release.
Comment 11 Stefan Behte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev Security 2010-10-11 02:37:38 UTC
The patch was included in 1.4.19.
