Description pingoo 2010-05-02 08:49:29 UTC
Emerge of kdevelop (4.0.0 but also previous versions) fails (like bug 304897); I think the root of the issue is pointed out by the compile output that follows:
/var/tmp/portage/dev-util/kdevelop-4.0.0/work/kdevelop-4.0.0/languages/cpp/codegen/unresolvedincludeassistant.cpp:23:37: error: ui_custom_include_paths.h: No such file or directory

Reproducible: Always

As a suggestion, I think the file not found (ui_custom_include_paths.h) must be created from the file /kdevelop-4.0.0/languages/cpp/codegen/ui/custom_include_paths.ui

Had the same problem
switching to MAKEOPTS="-j1" solved the problem.

Thank you, I don't know why, but solved also here.
Comment 8 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-05-15 23:10:37 UTC
Please try to reproduce with -j2 or -j3 (whatever you have in there) BUT with ccache disabled. It works fine here anyway.
Comment 9 Jan Kohnert 2010-05-16 15:20:25 UTC
Same Bug here with -j2 and ccache disabled. -j1 solves the problem here, too.

Comment 12 pingoo 2010-05-17 20:40:05 UTC
I've removed kdevelop, disabled ccache commenting on /etc/make.conf and tried to build kdevelop but I've the same problem. Maybe it occurs only on Athlon?
Comment 13 pingoo 2010-05-17 21:31:12 UTC
I've just tried to build changing temporarily "march" from "athlon-xp" to "i686", leaving ccache disabled and MAKEOPTS="-j2" and it builds without errors, so I think it's an athlon problem with -j2

It seems the wanted file isn't built yet when it should. Using

ebuild /usr/portage/dev-util/kdevelop/kdevelop-4.0.0.ebuild merge

after the first emerge failed finished successfully on my machine, amd64, march=core2, MAKEOPTS="-j2". Therefore I guess ui_custom_include_paths.h showed up after a different job looked for it.
Comment 15 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-09-05 20:32:27 UTC
Hmm, it really is fishy. For instance Diego (AMD Opteron) reported strange parallel compilation bug that doesn't appear for me (Intel processor), bug 336008. I wonder whether those are related.
Comment 16 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-09-06 01:32:20 UTC
Please confirm the issue is still happening with 4.0.1 or 4.0.2.

Hi, here it's ok for both 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, the problem doesn't appear

No, neither 4.0.1 nor 4.0.2 compile out of the box. I had to use the ebuild command twice to get it emerged.
