I want to retire, do I need to do anything else that reopening this bug?

I currently am the only French doc dev and I don't know anyone that could replace me. I'm OK to do some mentoring if you ever find someone.

What can we do about http://dev.gentoo.org/~cam/gentoo-doc-fr/ being the home for French translators (none currently) and containing valuable infos?

Docs team needs to take care of that in a way that they see fit.

I'm volunteer, but I'm not a dev yet. My recruiting is stalled due to my mentor being busy lately. Bug 375321. (Several French users started working on updating the handbook recently). -- Sorry for interfering, I didn't knew where to say it.
