Wings3d emerges fine (package versions erlang-9c-r1, esdl-0.93.0909, and wings-0.98.15a), and appears to be functional, but freezes when I try to perform "open" or "save as" operations (possibly others). The "save" operation doesn't freeze wings; in fact, it doesn't appear to actually do anything. I haven't played with it much yet, as the first thing I tried to do upon running it was open an existing model, but what little I did try of the rest of the program worked perfectly. I realise that the version of the esdl package listed above is masked, but the same problem occurs with the "stable" package version. Additionally, there are newer versions of wings available that could be packaged. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Emerge wings (erlang, esdl, wings) 2.Run wings and select File->[Save|Save As|Open] 3.Sigh Actual Results: Wings freezes. To be more precise, the window no longer redraws, so the application is essentially useless; however erlang doesn't crash, and no error messages are written to the console. Expected Results: Open a file selection dialog (could this be the problem? It certainly is one link between all the failing operations) and perform the requested operation. Unfortunately, I have zero budget for modelling tools; fortunately, I have Windows on the same laptop (with working wings install). I'd like to be able to use it under Gentoo as well, though, as I like to have as few reasons as possible to reboot my computer (even UT2003 is installed under both OSes), and like showing off linux ;)
please try out wings-0.98.19b and re-open if it doesnt fix the problem
