Description Artem Baguinski 2003-10-22 04:50:34 UTC
description of the "meta" command of ratpoison:

meta Send a `C-t' to the current window

`C-t' is ratpoison's keybindings prefix, (like `C-a' in screen). it's also "jump
to older entry in a tag stack" binding in vim. "meta" command is bound to `C-t
t' by default and it works for GUI applications (e.g. it opens new tag in
MozillaFirebird). It doesn't seem to reach vim running inside xterm.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start xterm in ratpoison
2. start vim inside xterm
3. open help window and follow some tag there with `C-]'
4. try to get back entering `C-t t' - it won't. try the same with :pop - it will.

Actual Results:
vim doesn't notice `C-t'. i suppose no console application inside xterm will (i
don't know other applications using this key combination from top of my head)

Expected Results:
oh, come on, this field is redundant

Apparently this problem happens on all programs run via xterm. There is
a thread on the ratpoison developers ML that explains this a little more.

Basically in order to get it to work right, you'll have to choose another
keybinding for it in your ratpoisonrc
