Description Olliver Schinagl 2010-04-22 17:55:31 UTC
clamd won't start, clamscan gives the same errors, they run until they've gobbled up all memory and then crash.

Dmesg lists the following:
[11389.290145] clamscan[17275] trap invalid opcode ip:6bc15943fef8 sp:742e35bb8440 error:0 in libclamav.so.6.1.2[6bc1590f3000+8d5000]
clamd just gives Illegal Instruction; so does clamscan.

I did clear out /var/lib/clamav/ so it's not some old stale database. Reverting back to the 0.95 version seemed to be okay again.

Reproducible: Always

Hmm, is this still a problem?
Comment 2 Olliver Schinagl 2011-08-18 10:01:30 UTC
I belive clamd is now 'hardened' aware and has a check for it, there was a .conf setting that also fixed it. Next time i upgrade clamd I will remove the .conf setting and see if it works.
