After installing lm-sensors-2.8.0 the devices /dev/i2c-*[0-31] are missing. 
According to doku after "make install" should "prog/mkdev/mkdev.sh" be
executed, which is not done.

in gentoo /dev stuff is handled by devfs. if you have the proper kernel modules
installed and loaded, those devices should be accessable.

right, devfs handle this
