sys-block/gparted-0.5.2 (and presumably other versions also) depends on app-text/scrollkeeper, app-text/gnome-doc-utils, and app-text/docbook-xml-dtd. If the -disable-doc option is passed to ./configure instead of --enable-doc, these dependencies would not be required. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge sys-block/gparted Actual Results: app-text/scrollkeeper, app-text/gnome-doc-utils, and app-text/docbook-xml-dtd are pulled in as dependencies unconditionally. Expected Results: app-text/scrollkeeper, app-text/gnome-doc-utils, and app-text/docbook-xml-dtd are pulled in as dependencies only if the doc use flag is set.
Created attachment 228345 [details] ebuild with additional doc use flag Also removed the || kde-base/kdebase as the kde bundled packages are no longer in portage in favor of the meta packages. This ebuild should be QAed by someone who is more confident of their ebuild abilities than I am.
gnome herd does not use to provide user documentation as an option
