Ah the wonders of life, I tested xfree-4.2.0-r11 and Mozilla-1.0rc3 and sadly they both didn't compile as beautifully as I would have hoped with gcc version 2.95.3. Mozilla failed with a lot of the following warnings: warning: -jN forced in submake: disabling jobserver mode. and then finnaly: make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/mozilla-1.0_rc3-r1/work/mozilla/xpfe' make[1]: *** [tier_9] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/mozilla-1.0_rc3-r1/work/mozilla' make: *** [default] Error 2 !!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully. !!! Function src_compile, Line 87, Exitcode 2 !!! (no error message) X11 on the other hand seemingly had no problems. Get someone to test it with Gcc3 and unmask to your hearts content.
So, basically, mozilla won't emerge? Could you try again, after emerge rsync, and scroll back until you see the exact error as reported by make?
The Md5's of mozilla-1.0_rc3-r51 are screwed, but besides that IT BUILT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! It wouldn't stop building I used ebuild mozilla(Whateverrevision) fetch compile install merge just like I always do. *Shrug* And now a haiku: One two three four five, six seven eight nine ten el, even twelve thirteen.
Scratch that it builds just fine, UNMASK! NOW!!!!
-r5x should -NEVER- EVER EVER EVER EVER be unmasked!!! please note, those two are gtk2 enabled builds, and that means.. no galeon, no anything that requires mozilla linking (nautilus + galeon works together to use mozilla) and that menu and cut-n-paste are all broken...
I read it again, and it seems that there's nothing left to fix about this bug :)
Agreed and we all live happily ever after.
