Im doing a new install and it told me to update portage after I sync'd and i went to do so and this is what I got.

It saddens me to say this, but this bug hasn't received any attention in months.

The bug you submitted is unlikely to have anything to do with "emerge portage" and way more likely to have something to do with gcc or the kernel, but there's not enough information for me to know.

Between the time the bug was posted and the time of this writing, both packages were updated.

If it's still a problem, I suggest you do "emerge sync && emerge -up world"

I'm closing this bug as NEEDINFO, because it would be impossible to reproduce.
