i am using ebtables to work on some complex firewall/routing issues and there is no ebtables ebuild. i'm sure it would be simple to make, but I am not good at making satisfactory ebuilds. there is only a make and make install option for it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 20768 [details] my test version This is my test version.
I was just going to submit an ebuild for this, yours seems to do the trick on the latest version, 2.0.6
Created attachment 25112 [details] my ebuild for ebtables 2.0.6 (it's a tar.bz2) i'm a complete beginner, so this ebuild may not work on every machine. it works for me though. stupid makefile doesn't support DESTDIR paramter. so i had to patch it.
my ebuild wasn't as good as the other one, so i declared it as obsolete.
Created attachment 25113 [details] ebuild for arptables an ebuild for arptables 0.0.3 based on the ebuild for ebtables
damn, the arptables-build has wrong HOMEPAGE and SRC_URI just replace ${PN} with ebtables
Created attachment 26222 [details] ebtables-ebuild that builds latest version from CVS
Created attachment 26223 [details] arptables-ebuild that builds latest version from CVS
The Makefiles of ebtables and arptables now properly support the DESTDIR paramter along with others like LIBDIR, MANDIR, etc ... The ebuilds i just submitted can be used as a template for a ebtables-2.0.7 or arptables-0.0.4 ebuild.
ebtables, arptables added to portage. Mine look a little different but should work out of the box and not cause any sandbox violations.
These are in portage now so closing bug as fixed.
