When emerging media-libs/freetype, I got the following message during post-install phase: The utilities and demos previously bundled with freetype are now optional. Enable the utils USE flag if you would like them to be installed. I see this message each time I emerge the package on several systems for months. I searched if we can get rid of it. According to the package changelog, the message seems to be there since October 2007: 04 Oct 2007; Ryan Hill <dirtyepic@gentoo.org> metadata.xml, +freetype-2.3.5-r2.ebuild: - made ft2demos optional with utils USE flag (Bug #182905 by kerzol) - always use system zlib - remove ancient RDEPEND blockers If date is confirmed, maybe the message could be removed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge media-libs/freetype 2. look at the emerge messages on console 3. Actual Results: A (probably outdated) message about utilities and demos is displayed. Expected Results: No message about utilities and demos is displayed.
