Description Juergen Rose 2010-04-16 16:20:41 UTC
If multitail is called show the output of a command, the output of multitail is mostly incomplete. Usually the last two lines of the command output is missing.
I will attach an example script which passes the same function as parameter to 'watch' and to 'multitail'. I would expect almost the same output. But only the output of watch is so as expected. The output of 'multitail' is instable and show the described error.

Reproducible: Always

Icannot reproduce this. Your script shows always ten lines, both with watch and mutlitail.

If I start this script (n=10), I see with watch 10 lines, compare the attachment Bildschirmfoto-watch.png. If I kill watch with ^C, multitail shows only 8 lines, compare the attachment Bildschirmfoto_multitail.png.

For me it is fine. Please file a bug upstream for that.
Comment 7 Juergen Rose 2011-01-07 19:25:55 UTC
Sorry for the wrong mime type of the attachment Bildschirmfoto-watch.png and Bildschirmfoto_multitail.png.

Thanks Justin,

With except of your last line

include:/data/scripts/gentoo

I can't find any significant difference.
Comment 12 Juergen Rose 2011-01-07 20:10:59 UTC
The effect happens on all my systems with xterm, gnome-terminal or konsole as terminal window as user rose or as user root.

I send already some month ago a problem description to
http://www.vanheusden.com/feedbackform.php?subject=Multitail.

I did it now once more.

Regards

Does 5.2.7 or 5.2.8 fix this issue?
